What is XERF?+
XERF is a radiofrequency skin-tightening device from Lutronic, the maker of our LaseMD Ultra and Clarity II lasers. It delivers controlled heat below the surface to tighten tissue and stimulate new collagen, without needles or micro-injuries.
How is XERF different from RF microneedling?+
RF microneedling uses needles to deliver energy, which means numbing and a few days of recovery. XERF delivers energy through the skin surface, so there is no numbing, no pinpoint bleeding and no downtime.
How many sessions will I need?+
That depends on your skin and goals. Many clients start with a short series a few weeks apart, with results continuing to improve for up to six months as collagen builds. Your $50 consultation sets the plan.
Who is a good candidate?+
Anyone noticing early laxity along the jawline, neck or cheeks who wants firmer skin without surgery or downtime. XERF also pairs well with LaseMD Ultra for texture and tone.
Does XERF rebuild collagen and elastin?+
That is the whole idea. The radiofrequency heat triggers collagen remodeling: your skin responds by building new collagen and elastin over the next one to three months, which is why results keep improving after the appointment rather than fading.
Can XERF be combined with other treatments (“tighten and brighten”)?+
Yes, and most of our plans are combination skin treatments. “Tighten and brighten” pairs XERF skin tightening with LaseMD Ultra™ resurfacing, so laxity underneath and tone and texture on the surface are treated in one plan. “Tighten and lighten” adds Glacial Rx® or LaseMD Ultra for dark spots and redness.
